Job description<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n
The Clinical Teaching Assistant (TA) collaborates closely with the Clerkship Director, supporting the execution, monitoring, and assessment of Clinical clerkships.<\/div>\n
\n

Furthermore, post-clerkship, the TA is anticipated to facilitate teaching during the pre-clerkship phase.<\/p>\n

Typical Duties and Responsibilities<\/b>:<\/span><\/div>\n
    \n
  • Organize and participate in clinical assessments and exams, including OSCEs, MCQs, case presentations, and discussions.<\/li>\n
  • Engage in teaching fundamental clinical skills during the pre-clerkship phase \u2013 this includes session preparation, delivery, and evaluation.<\/li>\n
  • Act as a liaison between teaching hospitals and the College of Medicine (CMED), aiding academic staff and clinicians in their educational duties.<\/li>\n
  • Facilitate small and large group teaching, like lectures, clinical rounds, PBL sessions etc.<\/li>\n
  • Assist in organizing students’ clinical rotations during clerkship training.<\/li>\n
  • Support and participate in clinical CME\/CPD activities, including faculty development.<\/li>\n
  • Maintain records related to student attendance and both formative and summative assessments.<\/li>\n
  • Lead group discussions, catering to small groups or entire classes.<\/li>\n
  • Compile and present student progress reports at the end of each semester using E-value.<\/li>\n
  • Monitor and guide student learning at the clinical teaching sites.<\/li>\n
  • Manage the distribution and collection of course evaluation questionnaires for each clerkship rotation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Qualifications:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine & Surgery (MBBS, MD, or equivalent).<\/li>\n
    • Minimum of two years’ experience in clinical practice or a similar educational environment.<\/li>\n
    • Postgraduate training (specialization\/ Board\/Masters\/Diploma) is desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      Competencies<\/b>:<\/span><\/div>\n
        \n
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.<\/li>\n
      • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.<\/li>\n
      • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.<\/li>\n
      • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and take the initiative in problem-solving.<\/li>\n
      • Proficiency in computer applications, with an openness to continuous learning.<\/li>\n
      • Prior experience in clinical medicine or medical education is essential.<\/li>\n
      • Familiarity with clinical skills teaching methods; relevant experience is a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
