General Accountant

Purpose:

The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Provide crucial support for financial audits by preparing, reviewing, and organizing documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Extract and validate employee expense summaries from the Payroll System, ensuring that all necessary details, including employee ID, expense type, amount, and relevant dates, are accurate and complete.
  • Ensure data accuracy and promptly resolve any discrepancies before integrating the information with SAP.
  • Prepare and integrate expense data into SAP using relevant tools or APIs, ensuring accurate posting to the appropriate accounts.
  • Implement and manage approval workflows within SAP to guarantee proper review and authorization of employee expenses.
  • Initiate and oversee payment processes, ensuring that payment runs are correctly configured, tested, and approved.
  • Perform reconciliations of employee expenses between the Payroll System and SAP, addressing and resolving any discrepancies identified.
  • Reconcile employee-related balance sheet accounts, including salary accruals, end-of-service benefits (EOSB), contributions to the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), leave salaries, air tickets, and other related expenses.
  • Generate reports in SAP to monitor employee-related expenses for budgeting and financial analysis purposes.
  • Maintain fixed assets in SAP by managing depreciation postings and ensuring the accuracy of the fixed asset register.
  • Oversee asset transactions in accordance with IFRS 16, including managing depreciation and preparing reports for audits.
  • Ensure that all financial processes comply with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation to support audits and compliance reviews.
  • Provide an assistant with any additional tasks or projects as needed by the accounting department.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures while promoting high standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools such as Power BI is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting system implementations.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
